(how do my ratings work?)
Hails from: South East Australia. Grapes: Shiraz
Very deep ruby, almost black, with big aggressive bubbles encouraging you to drink it before it goes flat. Blackcurrants on the nose, as well as hints of eucolyptus and darker berry fruit like blackberries. Texture is a bit hollow on the palate. Lightly sweet, very ripe fruits: blackcurrants, blackberries, pepper and mint. Sort finish and all feels a bit flabby. It’s been made en-masse in the tank method and does it’s job as an alternative-style of wine, however I think most sparkling wine drinkers would avoid it.
