Hails from: Champagne, France; Grapes: Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Meunier
This Champagne can trace its history back to 1825 and is today owned by Jean-Claude Forman. They boast an impressive house cellar that stretches 3km into a rocky hill, expanded from the original Gallo-Roman galleries. The Royale 2004 is golden in colour and has a vibrant fizz. Aromas are pungent with notes of toffee apple, white peach and kernel. The palate is bone dry. Some lime and plum fruit but ultimately lees dominated. Very moreish! Try with fish and chips.
