(how do my ratings work?)

Hails from: Adelaide Hills, Australia; Grapes: Nero d’Avola

I like what Fox Gordon are doing very much. Founded in 2000, the winery makes unexpectedly fabulous wines in the Adelaide Hills and Barossa Valley from Italian and Spanish varieties like Fiano, Tempranillo and Nero d’Avola. Their ominous title Dark Prince is 100% Nero d’Avola – one of my favourite quaffing grapes – and delivers seductive spicy and blackberry jam aromas. On the palate is more finesse with rich dark chocolate character, cherries and a dusting of bitter cocoa and vanilla spice in the finish. It would pair remarkably with a BBQ’d steak.
