Lismore Estate Pinot Noir 2017

★★★★☆
(how do my ratings work?)

Hails from: Cape South Coast, South Africa. Grapes: Pinot Noir

Winemaker Samantha O’Keefe sources the grapes for her Pinot from Stanford, Walker Bay and Elgin. These cool climate sites lend themselves well to Pinot Noir and this is a delicious example. Cherry and cranberry fruit are delivered with hints of toast and a soft bodied texture. Some new oak makes it New World in style but it retains some nods to the old world with petal on the finish. Alcohol nicely balanced at 13.5%. An accomplished Pinot Noir!
