Hails from: Villany, Hungary. Grapes: Cabernet Franc

Founded in 2001, this 13.5 hectare estate is co-owned by Gábor Jandrasics and Sára Elek. The wine is made by András Kőszeli. Made in Villany, a warm region located in southern Hungary near the Danube River, Jackfall has taken all the best influence from Loire Cabernet Franc (rustic, structured reds) and combined it with a real intensity. Villany wines are more approachable in their youth, although admittedly do need at least a couple of hours in a decanter to open-up. The Classic Jackfall balances ripe blackberry fruit with tangy, crunchy cranberry, pepper, herbs, charcoal and smoke with cocoa hints and warm wood tones. Very drinkable even now but will get even better with time.
