Tickets are now available for an exciting Georgian Wine Festival making its debut at Dartington Estate in Devon from 13th to 15th October 2023.

MWs get to visit amazing wine places, but there’s something special about Georgia. The culture is soaked in wine, and Georgians relate to wine in an especially joyous and soulful way. From feasting, singing, dancing, and toasting – wine is what makes Georgia so very Georgian.”

The Georgian National Wine Agency and Dartington Trust have announced their first Georgian Wine Festival in Devon this October. It will take place 13-15 October with the weekend promising to “captivate wine enthusiasts, culture aficionados, and curious explorers alike, offering a unique opportunity to immerse oneself in the rich traditions of Georgian wine and winemaking.”

The weekend has been curated by Masters of Wine Sarah Abbott and Justin Howard-Sneyd. They commented: “MWs get to visit amazing wine places, but there’s something special about Georgia. The culture is soaked in wine, and Georgians relate to wine in an especially joyous and soulful way. From feasting, singing, dancing, and toasting – wine is what makes Georgia so very Georgian. And the next best thing to going to Georgia yourself is to join us at Dartington Estate this October for a little piece of Georgia transported to Devon. Tickets are available for the full weekend, individual days, or single sessions. You can expect sensational food, wine, film and music – all in the natural beauty and heritage manor of Dartington.”

I was lucky enough to visit Georgia earlier this year and can testify to the country and its people’s abilities to create memories. Rich with tradition, innately welcoming, and living in the essence of celebration, it’s a country that’s easy to fall in love with.

According to the events organisers, attendees will have the opportunity to get a taste of all this with the chance to embark on a sensory journey through the heart of Georgia’s winemaking traditions. Masterclasses led by Georgian winemakers, a showcase of Georgian heritage, music and dance, along with a feast of delicious food. The line-up is uspported by some of Georgia’s best wineries, and leading Georgian restaurants and organisations here in the UK.
