I enjoyed this wine with a spicy hot broth of udon noodles with chilli, ginger, garlic, onion, red pepper and Pak Choi. Light sweetness offset the spice beautifully.

Purchased at auction price. Cork was a little poor but wine quality good. (N/A not on wine-searcher). Tanners has some more recent vintages in the UK.

About the Producer
The Kerpen wine estate is the third largest owner of the Wehlener Sonnenuhr vineyard, owning 3 of the 8 hectares it covers in the Model Valley. Martin Kerpen, who is the 8th generation owner of the estate, also has vines in Bernkastel and Graach. The estate has been in the family for longer than 250 years and has become a hallmark classic of the Middle Mosel, a sub region famed for is blue slate.
