Ben says
★ Good Wine “Juicy and lighter looking with a purplish hue, I can almost smell its jammy and tangy aroma just from the sight – before I actually do smell it. Blackcurrant jam and red plum fill my nose. It’s not especially exciting but it smells fruity and decent. That same crowd-pleasing approach comes through on the soft and simple palate, with an addition of lightly smoky oak. There’s slight tannins and a bite of good acidity, then an odd iron-like note I often notice in more industrial wines. It finishes short. As far as Malbecs go this is a no-nonsense, quaffable red you should pick if you’re just enjoying a bottle with friends – and without the fanfare of food.“

KEY POINTS
Varietal Malbec with 12.5% abv. Some wood influence.
Grown in: San Juan, ARGENTINA.
Food Pairing
This juicy red doesn’t really need food, but if you insist go for BBQ crisps or some bar snacks. The classic Malbec pairing – red meat – will probably overpower this one. Cheese wise go for milder cheese like run of the mill cheddar or sheep’s cheese.
