ABOUT THE EVENT
Garnacha, or Grenache to the French, is one of the world’s most popular grape varieties. It is one of the few varieties you can discover in a white, gris (pinkish grey) and red form, but in this latest tasting event from Ben we’re focusing on the red wine styles in all their diversity.
The revival of this variety to quality standing, after years of being sidelined as a table wine, is down to a plethora of winemakers pushing the variety to its limits. From its light, fresh styles that echo fruit-driven Pinot Noirs to its full-bodied, rich and chocolatey examples that feel closer to Malbec and shows why Garnacha’s a key blending ingredient in gutsy examples of Chateauneuf du Pape and long-lived Rioja.
In Ben’s first wine tasting since stepping down from Novel Wines in 2023, you’ll have the chance to explore Ben’s newest discoveries and learn about these incredible wines.
