Ben says
★ Good Wine “Surprisingly sweet on the nose – candyfloss, nougat, white pear and lemon. It is zesty, frothy and smooth in the mouth with a satisfyingly bittersweet finish. The wine’s fresh as a daisy, even if it’s not necessarily something I’ll write home about.“

KEY POINTS
Chardonnay (80%), Pinot Noir (19%) and Pinot Bianco (1%) blend with 12.5% abv. This is a cuvee from over 100 separately vinified parcels selected from Bellavista’s 191 hectare estate. 15% of the cuvee is matured in small oak casks. Aged on its lees for 30 months.

Food Pairing
Its sweetly perfumed aromas and fresh style makes it a delightful fizz for salty cheese, and given this is Italian we should stick to Pecorino – or better yet, Taleggio.

About the Producer
Bellavista is one of the most successful sparkling wine producers in Italy, known for its Franciacorta wines, which are made in the traditional method like Champagne. They manage 200 hectares, most of which is estate-owned, in the western part of Franciacorta in Lombardy, Italy. The estate was founded in the 1970s by Vittorio Moretti, who is still very much involved today, with their first vintage in 1979. Moretti is joined by winemaker Mattia Vezzola, who he met in 1981.
