Ben says
★★ Great Wine “Even in its relative youth, this wine is showing beautiful tertiary and mature aromas of dried berries in a mix of violet hues and soft, warm spices. It is brick brown at its lip, kicking up legs all about the glass. Soft with light, fine tannins and juicy blueberry fruit, it is a moreish and flavourful red wine. I enjoyed this over a couple of days and it does lose its aromatic beauty fairly swiftly (it was a bit passed it after day one), it still retains character and is an excellent example of Turkish fine wines.“

About the Producer
Mustafa Camlica continues his family’s history of farming in Luleburgaz, Eastern Thrace, where the family have been active since 1936. They had immigrated from Kubadin, Razgrad, in northeastern Bulgaria. Mustafa, a prominent fine wine investor from the third generation of the family to live in Türkiye, is behind the new boutique winery that has put Turkey on the map for fine wines. The winery is named after his daughter, who also designs all the labels.
All Chamlija’s vineyards are located in Kirklareli Province, Türkiye. The Bulgarian name of Kirklareli was Lozengrad, which means “The city of Vines”. They have 85 hectares under vine with some of the highest density plantings in the Balkans and Türkiye, ranging from 5,000 to 6,666 vines per hectare, with some vineyards even at 10,000! The aim of high-density planting is to enhance quality and encourage deep root systems to express the full potential of the terroir. The local Strandja Mountains also have a dominant effect on the estate’s vineyard, soils and climates.
