Ben says
★★ Great Wine “This is a grower Champagne own label with Guy Méa also supplying the juice for Pol Roger’s Cuvée Winston Churchill and Gosset. This is a light golden colour with a sheep’s cheese leesy nose and toasted aromas. Full of orchard fruits and a grippy but layered mousse, it’s got lots of depth and interest with a long and satisfying finish. More interesting than so much fizz and superb value.”
KEY POINTS
80% Pinot Noir and 20% Chardonnay with 12.5% abv. 7g/litre dosage. 10 months in enamelled vats and nearly 3 years on the lees in bottle.
Grown in: Valeurs-Mutry, Champagne, FRANCE.
Food Pairing
While oysters and Champagne are the iconic pairing, for me this wine has a more rustic texture and that makes it even more food friendly. Pair with barbequed salmon or haddock.
