Ben says

★ Good Wine “Lemon curd, caramel and biscoff, apple/white pear aromas. Clean, bittersweet apple, lemon, toast and shortbread biscuit. If only it had a longer lees ageing period. Pleasant while not outstanding.”

Franciacorta Nature 'Coupé'

KEY POINTS

Chardonnay and Pinot Noir with 12.5% abv. Hand harvested from sandy and clay glacial soils. First fermentation is split with 56% in stainless steel tanks and 44% in oak. The wine undergoes second fermentation in bottle with ageing on lees for at least 24 months.

Grown in: Franciacorta DOCG, Lombardy, ITALY.

Food Pairing

There’s lots of citrus in this Franciacorta, so to offset some of that zing try the sparkling wine with saltier dishes like grilled or fried fish, pasta with clams, smoked salmon finger food (if you’re celebrating), or your favourite cheese.
