Ben says
★★★ Outstanding Wine “Oh wow this wine is beautiful. Who knew Muscat could be this good? An outrageously attractive nose and not just flowers and sugar like so much other Muscat. Here it’s still floral but bright with melon, sunflower seeds and marmalade. It’s zesty but full, tropical and enveloping on the palate. A rich yet meadow-like freshness dominates on the finish. An utterly lovely wine!”
KEY POINTS
Varietal Muscat Blanc à Petits Grains with 15.0% abv. Bottled at under 5g/L residual sugar.
Grown in: Istria, CROATIA.
Food Pairing
Normally Amfora wines can match up with the kind of dishes you’d put reds with – meats, umami, soy, and so on. However, the delicate aromatics of Muscat and the bright yellow fruits make a better pairing with white meats like roast pork or oily fish dishes like mackerel or salmon.

About the Producer
Kabola Winery is a mid-sized boutique winery owned by the Markezic family in Istria near Buje. While the family can trace their winemaking history to the 19th century, the modern winery was established in 2004 and was one of the first in its area. Today the family look after 20 hectares of organic vines with a focus on indigenous grapes like Momjanski Muskat, Malvazija Istarska and Teran. Kabola is the first Croatian producer to use and embrace amphora wines.
