Ben says

★ Good Wine Golden coloured dessert wine with a nose of bruised fruit, local honey, caramel and spice. Refreshing acidity lifts the finish with citrus oil notes. It’s a good sweet wine with those deeper Barsac tones.

Ben Franks Wine Tasting Note Producer Profile

About the Producer

Chateau Climens is one of the top estates in Barsac and Sauternes, nicknamed the ‘Lord of Barsac’. It is owned by the Lurton family, who decided to focus on growing Semillon only and to create single varietal dessert wines using this variety. The wines are all hand-harvested with the best berries going under the estate’s main label, and with a second wine produced called Cypres from a second round of picking from the same parcels. The yields for the Grand Vin under Climens are as low as 7hl/ha!
