Ben says

★ Good Wine A more herbaceous take on Riesling than some of Barry’s other wines. It is waxier on the palate with a mix of nettle greenness and lemon citrus. Its purity is rooted nicely in a melon-like finish with a pithy and long note.

Guerrieri Rizzardi '3 Cru' Amarone della Valpolicella Red Wine

KEY POINTS

Varietal Riesling with 12.0% abv. Grapes were pressed without skin contact, cold settled and racked. Partially fermented on lees and with a small parcel fermented in French oak to add texture.

Grown in: Clare Valley, South AUSTRALIA.

Food Pairing

I would give this wine a try with slightly fuller fish dishes like fish pie and steamed green beans.

Ben Franks Wine Tasting Note Producer Profile

About the Producer

Jim Barry helped put Clare Valley wine region on the map, becoming the first qualified winemaker in oenology in 1947 and later founding his namesake winery in 1956. The winery is still family-owned today, passed to his son Peter and now managed by his grandchildren, third generation winemaker Tom Barry and his siblings Sam and Olivia.
