Ben says
★★ Great Wine “A light, fruit-driven white wine. The nose is an interesting mix of orange blossom, star anise, apple and beeswax. On the palate its full and lightly buttery with a soft, green acidity and juicy finish. It feels like it shares more with Chenin Blanc than Melon but its a delightful example of well-handled natural winemaking.“

About the Producer
Domaine de la Sénèchalière is a winery based in the Loire Valley region of Muscadet from winemaker Marc Pesnot. He produces Muscadet wines from the Melon de Bourgogne grape variety but does not often classify his wines under the Muscadet appellation due to the high minimum yield requirements, often difficult to achieve with his older, low yielding vines. These older vineyards are planted largely on schist soils and vinified with a natural, low intervention philosophy.
