Ben says

★★★ Outstanding Wine Wine is naturally subjective, but sometimes you do have to appreciate how objectively talented some winemakers are – just as in art. This Blanc de Blancs from Krone is one of those moments. It is pristine. Soft aromas of apple crumble lead into a viscous, bright palate of citrus that dances like ballet on gentle lees ageing flavour. It has a long finish, stretching the moment of pleasure out before you tuck into another mouth-watering mouthful.

Guerrieri Rizzardi '3 Cru' Amarone della Valpolicella Red Wine

KEY POINTS

Varietal Chardonnay with 12.5% abv. Fermentation of base wine in amphora casks with malolactic fermentation. Zero dosage.

Grown in: Tulbagh, Western Cape, SOUTH AFRICA.

Food Pairing

Elegant but full in style, the Krone Cap Classique Blanc de Blancs will pair as well with fish and chips as it will with a Thai green curry, as is the beauty of such well-made wines. For me, the best experience you’ll have drinking this fizz is with a lobster roll.

About the Producer

Svend and Abigail Rand purchased House of Krone in 2012. The house releases only vintage declared cap classique sparkling wines. The wines evoke the rocky soils of the Tulbagh region and their vineyard Elandskloof vineyard is particularly celebrated for its Chardonnay vines.
