Ben says
★ Good Wine “Of all the Malbecs I’ve been tasting in this flight, Trapiche is the only one with a ruby rim rather than a more vibrant purple hue. Usually that means a bit of oxidation or age. This is only 2023, so let’s assume the former. You can smell the skin contact on the nose – an almost crunchy, sour aroma behind the plummy-cherry fruit. It also smells like nutmeg. On the palate its full of bruised plum, blackcurrant and sweet-like cherry over vanilla, simple tannins and cheesy-like lees. All in all its good Malbec but feels a bit overworked, which is a shame.”
