Ben says
★★ Great Wine “You’re greeted by a pleasant nose of ripe black fruits, raspberry jam and sweet leather. There’s some star anise and cedarwood spice also. Lighter and fresher on the palate with packs of mainly red fruit. The wine’s nicely intwined with its oak, staying youthful and bright. The finish is long, with a little vanilla, and very soft. I imagine the wine has a little way to go but it’s tasting lovely.“
KEY POINTS
Cabernet Sauvignon (68%), Merlot (20%), Malbec (7%) and Petit Verdot (5%) blend with 13.5% abv. Harvested from the Glenmore Vineyard in Yallingup. Fermented in stainless steel with malolactic fermentation and maturation in 228L old French oak, ageing for 18 months.
Grown in: Margaret River, AUSTRALIA.
Food Pairing
Thoroughly enjoyed this alongside a steak and kidney pie, thyme and salt seasoned roasties, carrots, steamed broccoli and gravy. It’s fruitiness makes it a versatile red with bigger dishes as the red-fruit style keeps things fresh and moreish.
