Ben says

★★ Great Wine Light gold. Aromas of sweet pink lady apples and cream over lemon pith and chalky undertones. Ripe, peachy and full bodied with vibrant lemon and grapefruit bittersweet acidity. Long and mouth watering. Needs to be served a little less chilled to really show its style.

Guerrieri Rizzardi '3 Cru' Amarone della Valpolicella Red Wine

KEY POINTS

Varietal Chardonnay with 13.5% abv. The wine was wildly fermented in French oak barrels, a third of which was new oak. The Chardonnay was harvested from the Piccadilly, Lobethal, and Lenswood vineyards that sit at 455-500m elevation in the Adelaide Hills and whole bunch pressed.

Grown in: Adelaide Hills, AUSTRALIA.

Food Pairing

Riper, fruitier Chardonnays like this pair really well with pork. The creaminess also makes it a good partner for complementing creamy sauces, so try with a mushroom pasta dish.

About the Producer

Shaw + Smith is an Australian winery based in the Adelaide Hills. It was set-up by one of Australia’s most famous flying winemakers Michael Hill-Smith, who also happens to be Australia’s very first Master of Wine, and his cousin Martin Shaw. The pair are focused on the cooler vineyards to produce fresh styles of wine.
